I also asked which site it was (previous page); David Klyne replied that, like you, he thought it was Commons Wood.  Perhaps JVB will be back to confirm.

Yes, a good opportunity to try literally everything out in the new caravan, good luck with it.

As for priced accordingly - I seem to remember Hawes still being open whilst being updated, and being without the toiletblock, but I'm not sure whether it was priced accordingly.  Looking at prices for Commons Wood, the cheapest for pitch+2 is £18.30, and AFAIK non-facility sites are around £14, so unless the prices haven't yet been updated it would seem it hasn't been priced the same as other non-facility sites.  Although it does state on the website that there will be no toiletblock from 7 Jan - 26 Apr, and as that covers the Easter period, the most expensive price for pitch+2 then is £26.50.  A bit much methinks for a non-facility site.

Assuming of course it IS Commons Wood we're talking about wink

    Hi everyone,

The toilet block at Commons Wood will be closed for use from 7 January 2019 until 26 April 2019.  We will be keeping the site open for bookings during this time, but will be operating on a “service point only” basis, with only drinking water points, waste water disposal points and chemical waste emptying points in use.

To reflect this reduction in facilities available to you during this time, we have also reduced the nightly pitch fees and this has now been updated on the site page (reduction of up to 41%).

    FYI the repairs include:

    • New hot water boilers, pipework, replacement of water treatment system
    • Shower and shower backboard replacement
    • New heating boiler and electrical works
    • Re-cladding the dish washing area

I hope this info helps and please let me know if you have any further questions. smile
