I have a Elddis Avante 840 2018, we purchased in November 2017, I have 20 issues with the from wardrobe/Cuboard door hinges hanging off. Firewall not fitted correctly, issues with Whale system, etc etc. I have been in contacting with Ebor Leisure World at Malton Yorkshire, since March regarding the issues. Our caravan went to the dealers in April, they had the caravan for 4 weeks. All they managed to do was open the cutlery draw and order the wrong part for the cracked toilet base. I was told my out standing warranty work had been authorised about 7 weeks ago. I have tried to contact Ebor on a few occasions by email and phone but with no reply.

I have been in contact with Elddis, because I was not getting any joy from Ebor, Elddis did contact Ebor but this have not made any difference.

It would be appreciated if anyone could advise on this matter.

Kind Regards

John Truman

You could ask Elddis if there’s another repairer who could do the warranty work but, as I’m sure you know, it’s the dealer who sold you the van who is responsible. In this case, though, maybe a conversation with Elddis is in order.

We bought an Elddis Avante from Discover Leisure in 2009 and it had over 50 defects in first year and we had similar problems trying to get warranty work done. Discover went into liquidation before most of the work was done so Elddis had to allow us to have the work done at an accredited independent workshop who then found water ingress on first service.

Have to say whilst the build quality was awful the independent workshop did a really good job so why not try getting Elddis to advise you of alternative repairers accredited by them who could do the work.

If that fails talk to trading standards or consumer advice.

We had an Elddis Crusader that had to have a new front panel in the first year,  so we had the work done by the dealer we brought the van from and like you were not happy with the service we received from them.  When we checked the the work they had done we lost all faith in the company,  and got another Elddis dealer to sort out there bad workmanship,  and all this was done under warranty by another Elddis dealer.  So if your not happy with Ebor go some were else.  Most Elddis dealer will do warranty work for you if you have it serviced by them.

Similar to an experience I had with Ebor many years ago - vowed never to darken their doors again.  Doesn't sound as if they've got any better. Bearing in mind it's a nearly-new caravan, Oneputt's advice seems the best way to go.

Have you considered involving trading Standards? The caravan does not sound as it is fit for purpose and the dealer is hardly covering themselves in glory.

    OMG! That’s appalling.

See them in court. Seek redress plus compensation for your lost holiday and inconvenience.

That's disgraceful. How could they return a caravan with a wheel missing....the mind boggles.
