Well folks. Earlier we asked if anyone had used an inflatable Kayak before and what they thought. Thank you for your replies. We did our research and finally bought a Gumotex Seawave. We were then about to head to Dorset so was keen to try out our new purchase. The result. It was fantastic. As you can see by the attached photographs we paddled out from Shell Bay and out to Old Harry's Rocks. Slight chop at times and light ish wind. The kayak was incredibly stable and was not affected by the wind at all. Exceeded our expectations. Easy to inflate, very strong, very stable and easily carried and stored in the rear storage area of the motorhome. Next day we paddled out in Poole harbour. The wind was fresh out there and even more chop on the water. Still the kayak performed really well. I think it has proved the point that it will be a lovely addition to our van. We camp next to many rivers and lakes and will certainly add another dimension to our holidays. Please note that we are experienced at traditional kayaking and take all safety precautions. If you are considering one of these I'm sure, like us, you will not be disappointed.
