We set off at the end of August for a rendezvous with our grandsons and their parents on the Cote

d’Azur at Roquebrune sur Argen. We had five days of fun with them before they had to set off homeward to the Alps for school and work. Frozen yogurt at St Raphael, Ice cream in St Maxime and sand castles at Les Issambres – it went so quickly.

After that we travelled along the coast to Cavalaire sur Mer where we were booked into Camping de la Baie for two weeks. We had reserved the last pitch and the site was fully booked for September!

The site in Cavalaire is in the centre of town and so everything is within walking distance: shops, beach, restaurants, the port and the casino! Cath couldn’t use the campsite pool because of the risk of infection, and she also has to be careful of the sun. However, we managed paddles and swimming in the sea which is at its warmest in September (25C).

While in Cavalaire we had additional attractions such as a Jazz festival and the start of the Trophée des Alpes classic sports-car rally. We also celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary with a little cruise.

From Cavalaire we moved along to our favourite spot at Saint Clair and our favourite campsite just 100 metres from the prom and beach. We’ve managed to walk into Le Lavandou by taking it slowly and catching the bus back. Today we made it there and back on foot so Cath could buy a new watch for her collection (now 6€ apiece) and to buy some Provençal soap.

We leave on Sunday to start a four-night-stop journey back to Calais.

Here are some of our Holiday Snaps!

Thanks for all the nice comments. It's still hot and sunny down here, but cool in the evenings. Tomorrow our last day at Saint Clair.

We too love it at Saint Clair having stayed there four times now and Brexit-permitting we hope to be there in April/May too.  It's sufficiently 'chic' without being over the top and pretentious like resorts further east.
