hi we got a phone call today from our service engineer saying the dealer we sold our two year old lunar have been on to him saying that lunar wont honor the warrinty work because of the dates we cant understand this as both services were done well in time we sold the caravan back to the dealer we brought it from within three weeks of the service we are now concerned that if lunar dont cover the waranty the dealer will chase us for the money and as it as to have a new floor that will be a lot of money

If there is a problem with the service dates it is certainly not your problem as I doubt that you implied a warranty in the instance of sale.

If the dealer that you bought from and sold to actually did the annual services then he has not even cause to feel slightly miffed as he had all the necessary info to know whether or not warranty conditions had been fulfilled.

If l remember correctly Lunar give a period of 60 days either side of the original purchase date in which annual service/inspections must be carried out in years one and two and it is the third service were time constraints are greater.

How long ago did you sell the caravan? Is it possible that the dealer has had it sat a while and not put in the claim? Any more info? Has there been a new buyer? Whatever I don't see it as directly affecting you.

A dealer is deemed to be a professional and to know what he is doing. He can have no redress against a private individual he bought from.

He can chase as hard as he likes but has no call to target you. Tell him where to go if he tries it on and stop worrying.

As Easy T says. Shouldn't be a problem as dealer aware of full history and "Caveat Emptor" ( buyer beware)  applies when they bought it back. If they try one on refer them to Trading Standards.

the 3rd service has to be done before the warranty end date and not a day longer. the fact is you sold the van and the dealer accepted the deal with you. its not your problem.

Unless there was some condition in the sale contract then if there is a problem it is the dealers. If they have some comeback you should demand details of exactly whet Lunar have said to see if there is any basis in it.

Our Last Lunar did have a warranty claim for damp and there was absolutely no problem. It then had another damp area and the dealer did a part ex on the basis they would pursue the warranty claim with no conditions ao they could not have a problem with them.

Hi I have a Lunar, which was just repaired under Lunar warranty after an 18 month wait. When I collected the van from the repair shop I was told they were no longer doing work for Lunar as they couldn't get paid by Lunar!?

I stored my caravan on a site that was NCC approved for repairs and when I asked about my warranty repair they said did not do Lunars as still waiting for payment from years ago. NOT a very good company i'm afraid.

My experience with Lunar suggests they target sales and really have no interest once someone has bought one of their products. They seem to leave dealers high and dry with no spare parts. Best avoided.
