Trip wires

The solution is surely to do what they did at the site on the shores of Lake Garda which we walked through a view years back - pack the vans in so tightly that there was absolutely no way you could possibly walk across your neighbour's pitch!

As regards the thread subject, I still think a quiet word with the pitch invader is a much much better solution than killing or maiming them as has been suggested
A quiet word is always a good first approach to a problem that is not frequent, but if it is constant then it gets tedious after a while and a different approach is needed, eventually everyone on the site will get the message.
But the site layout leaves a lot to be desired.

I'll try again, as M's friendly/jokey post seems to have been allowed whereas my friendly/jokey response seems to have been binned....
I didn't think we were allowed to make comparisons to Overseas sites in the UK section?
every time I do, I'm immediately reminded of this....usually by the above poster

Obviously not! We were staying in a hotel at Riva del Garda and walked down through the site to the lake shore for a fantastic firework display. It was a horrendous site though and I'm sure not typical of sites in the area.
Not trying to make a point by the way, shame you and K appear to see confrontation in the least contentious of posts - still, that's life I suppose!

look,M, you like a leg pull at AD, by highlighting the different nature of that site (obviously inferior to club sites) ........a chance to get a little point across....albeit in jest...
so, I'm just having the same sort of a leg pull about posting in the wrong section, which you normally take great delight in pulling up myself and others about...but always in jest....
...no need for any sighing, just bat it back later if the mood takes you

There was a great bit of "pitch invasion" this morning aswe were getting ready to come home a motor caravaner was "faffing" getting their car hooked on and another motor caravan was leaving and could not wait so cut right across the site, over the grass, then between two occupied pitches driving over the storm guy rope on the awning of one,and did not stop to apologise to anyone

I'm just amazed that in a thread where folk have suggested trip wires, mines and machine gun turrets (that was your idea I think) anyone should have chosen to take offence at any other post.
Still, it's good to see that folk have a hobby to occupy their time!

sigh......
what hobby is that?.... we've been out all day walking the Tone and the surrounding....
not taking offence, just returning your leg pull, for reasons explained.
as long as you're not nasty, I'm more than happy to have mine pulled too, provided that you engage in the same spirit

It could be having something in common, M, such as a shared interest.
In this context I tend to agree with the 'frequently seen' meaning as in common tern or common toad.

They stay well hidden under bridges, Easy, so I guess we’ll never know. 😗

or common sense, which some on here seem to be missing!

That happened at a CaMC site we were on a few weeks ago...Windbreaks (I think 3) to full extent of pitch..two gazebos and two very very yappy 12" long by 6" high dogs (sorry I didn't recognise the breed) which were often taken for 'walkies' in a sort of childs add on hooked to the back of a bike...Edit...to clarify, an electric bike !!
