Does anybody know the reason why, some sites are members only and some sites are open to non members also?

Depends on whether they are in club ownership or are subject to what is written into the lease

I believe that some sites are leased or have local conditions placed on them which mean non members are allowed to stay. smile

Can anyone give a definite number as to how many C&MC sites are leased to the club?

I doubt it as that’s info you’d only find at HQ. Whether a site is leased or not doesn’t determine whether it’s a members only site as leases contain different terms.

I'm puzzled by your question. 🤔

Only the Club I suspect? You can work things out in a lot of cases. For instance if a site is long over due for the toilet blocks being upgraded it can point to the fact that its a leased site and the people that own the lease are unwilling to extend it for long enough to make it a worthwhile investment by the Club to upgrade. But I doubt that is the full story. On very much the plus side with lease sites is the fact that we wouldn't have anywhere near as many sites in fabulous situations as we now have if they didn't exist?

What is interesting is how many non members use these sites and how many then join to reduce the cost. Staying about three days at non member rates just about covers membership. I suspect the number staying will be very few indeed due to the exorbitant costs.
