Sadly today we have been told our 2009 Lunar Stellar 400 2 berth will most likely be written off. We were in a long line of traffic when we hit a deep pothole (on the nearside) on the Woodhead Pass (A628) & it has bent the chassis & twisted the nearside panel, possibly making the van uneconomic to repair.

We are in our mid/late 70s. I want to give some thought to touring again but OH thinks it might be time to 'call it a day'. I don't want to spent a fortune but have been looking on the Classified Ads section for something similar.

I seem to recall some time ago there were problems with some ads on that site. I wonder if anyone has any experience of buying through this section. I would appreciate any comments people may wish to make on buying this way.

Many thanks in advance.

Never bought anything via this site’s classified ads, but doesn’t it replicate the caravans for sale website. The latter seems to be much easier to navigate.

Maybe the clunkiness of the classifieds is what any problems may have related to?

    Be very careful buying online

when i was looking for a van tried that way found a nice van about 30 miles away cant remember what site it was emailed them only to be told the van was in Holland he would bring it to me if i payed via  Ebay i asked when they would be back in UK  no they live in Holland sent me copies of Passport to confirm who they were it started alarm bells ringing on further looking i found exactly the same van for sale in Norwich and Scotland same pics different prices

In the end i went to a dealer might off been a bit more but no problems

not saying all online sales are Scams

JUST BE VERY CAREFUL AND DONT PAY ANYTHING TILL YOU HAVE SEEN IT
