I've been on the South Shields ferry a few times this year? Does that count?

Only if the Torpoint ferry counts as well. 😀

Have you all finished discussing the actual topic then?

The advice at Greenfell would have been correct IF all other fire regs were met 😉. We are learning, now far too late, about testing, or not, of new products carrying over approval certs for something similar etc. Gas mains going up the only staircase etc.

I think those firefighters have enough to deal with without us adding to their burden. At the end of the day those poor devils will take the blame for something they personally didn't approve. I can't see planners or builders/manufacturers taking the can - they can and will hide behind the regs. "We did it by the book sir!"

I for one am more than happy to ensure the minimum for gap is observed, although I fear if they were put to the test  they may well be found wanting.

I too can't understand why it's not 6m between everything, including the tow from any caravan. We have a motorhome so in the middle of a pitch we get the greatest possible tiebreak 😉

Don't blame the Fire Service for Grenfell. Successive Gov's rescinded the requirement for inspections by Fire Service, and left such in the "capable" hands of private companies and local authorities. Profits/savings before people, how much can be saved?

I've removed a comment so we can keep the discussion on track and relevant to campsites. Many thanks.

I have no idea how many camp sites there are in the UK but I do know  what the CAMC offer, what the rules are and what the site would probably look like and if I don't like it I don't go there

There are dozens of others to choose from within practically any 20 mile radius in the UK.
