I'm shortly needing to drive from Manchester to Bolton Castle, in Wensleydale, near Redmire.
Google maps suggests a route across from Skipton, via Grassington, Kettlewell, coming out past Aysgarth, where the route gets distinctly wiggly. It's years and years since I went that way, and can't remember much of the roads, other than the whole area being enormously attractive, and visiting Aysgarth Falls as a child.

Our caravan's only 5m long and 2m wide, and I don't foresee any problems with wiggly roads - we took it round the NW and N coast of Scotland after all - but would welcome reassurance from those who know the area that there aren't any Sutton Bank style hazards lying in wait for us.

Thanks.

In case anyone's interested in going this way, there's a nice 1-in-4 passing Aysgarth Falls Hotel with a distinct sharp corner and a fairly narrow bridge with a right angle turn each end of it.
We went both ways quite happily. Whether you'd want to take a bigger van round there I don't know.
