Information wanted - SatNavs
Information wanted. Has any other member purchased the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s Edition of the Garmin Avtex Tourer One Plus? The reason for asking is I have just returned my one because I was getting so many faults with it. The list of faults I was getting seemed be endless. They all seemed to be software related. It became so bad I could no longer trust the reliability of it to work correctly and was let down badly several times by it.
So I am interested to find out if this is just a one of or if Garmin have got serious issues with the software on this Sat Nav.
I was looking at the reviews on the TOM TOM trucker SatNav’s but it seems that they also seem to have some problems and some serious issues with their Trucker SatNav’s.
I find that my 7 year old TOM TOM with it’s out of date maps is far more reliable than the NEW Caravan and Motorhome Club Edition Garmin Avtex Tourer One Plus.
So I am now at a loss to know just what Sat Nav to choose because with the reviews that I have read it seems that almost all the truck Sat Nav’s seem to have serious issues with their software.
One trucker reported his one wanted to take him the wrong way down a dual carriageway the wrong way. Just think of what could have happened if there had been thick fog that day and visibility was down to a few yards.
Another was told to turn off on to the A**** while the map was telling him to continue on, on the M4. That’s two different instructions he was being given.
So any info which may help me decide which one to choose would be appreciated
