Mark around solar panel

Hello

We have noticed, from bedroom window, that there is a mark around the solar panel.  It's like a scorch mark.  So OH washed the roof hoping that it was a water mark.  But it could not be washed away.

Has anyone experienced this, or can help to what it might be.

    What van do you have Lynne?  Perhaps others with the same van can check theirs?

    Though ours is a free standing panel so not causing similar issues, I do notice mine can get surprisingly hot on occasions.

    Hello, Lornalou I'm not very good with pictures sorry!  

    David we have a Swift Challenger 2013.  This is the first time we have noticed.  We thought may be the rain water has stayed there.

    Its like a water mark, OH thinks it might come off with a bit of silky.  There are no marks inside the van so that's good I hope!

    We are off to Bridgewater tomorrow for a couple of days, and will sort it when home.

    I shall certainly be checking mine now you've mentioned it Lynne, but we have a Bailey so it might be different.

    Hi Lynn.

    I have roof mounted SP. I clean it regularly as it helps with efficiency of the panel.  I can’t imagine what this might be as SPs are covered with glass as far as I know and glass doesn’t stain? Could it simply be some stubborn stain that just needs something  like crime clenser to remove it? Interested to know what it is when you find out.

    Hello Merve

    The mark is on the roof around the solar panel.  At the start of the season it wasn't there.  It could well be a water mark.  OH will go back up on the roof when home and clean it .  I will let you know if it is that.  I suppose it could be a water mark if it has been holding water there, but not have noticed it before.

    For Merve and DSB

    Been on caravan roof this morning, cleaned the mark with Aldi stain remover and all marks gone.

    Will be keeping an eye, I now think it might be water holding there, so have moved van, so that the water will run off, hopefully !
