Deposit down
hello all,
we are regular campers but decided to take the plunge and have put a deposit down on a 2016 Bailey Pursuit 560-5. I was feeling really happy until I made the fatal mistake of googling forums and found criticisms from owners. Reassure me that I haven’t thrown my money down the drain!,

Providing the previous owner has kept up maintenance and rectification of any faults that have popped up in the last couple of years you have made as good a choice as any. Google any make of van or car and the results can be scary.
Your advantage is that in my experience many faults on new vans occur in the first couple of years they then settle down until things wear out. Plus you've saved money against a new purchase.
So hopefully if the if my first sentence is true you should have a van free of problems for a while.
Forums can be useful. My advice is be vigilant check the forums see if anything relates to your van and check. If it looks like a problem is raising it's head, see if a recall or warranty/goodwill claim is relevant. From personal experience I have found Bailey very responsive and they have pretty good spares set up with speedy delivery. I daresay others may have varied experiences.
Cease the worry and enjoy the freedom of your caravan!

Any van purchase will make you think twice, as said as long as the previous owner has kept up the warranty by having it serviced on time and you have the remaining warranty transferred to you then you should be ok.
The one thing I would make sure you have done prior to making the final payment is have a DAMP test done. All makes of vans can suffer with damp problems but our Bailey MH had bad damp 3 times in 6 years, all repaired under warranty but not nice to have to keep having it done.
