Cleaners/polishes for motorhomes
Any recommendations on what products to use for cleaning/polishing motorhome? Cab front has lost its nice shine. Have used Bobby Dazzler with some success but not 100 per cent. Someone mentioned using a boat product but so many out there.

Check that your mhome book to see if silicone based polishes and waxes should not be used. Our Rapido states that silicone products will degrade the panels and use a marine based wax polish
. I use International Marine products, well documented and tend to economic in use despite the initial cost.
if OK to use silicone based products, you would go a long way to beat Mer or Auto Glym products from Halfords,
Autoglym Fastglass is a good product for cleaning acrylic Windows, As these can be damaged by some incompatible products.
Also required is elbow grease, that tends to be the limiting factor.

Twice a year, around March and October, we use Autoglym Caravan and Motorhome Cleaner followed by their Resin Polish. We then use an ordinary car shampoo in between trips.

Hi
I have a pvc van which is all metal, on that I use Autoglym products and get a brilliant shine. I also have an American RV which has a glass fibre gel coat. On this I use Meguiars products. They have a varied range to suit all surface types. They are very helpful on the phone with guidance on what to use. Bobby dazzler etc by Fenwicks is a after polish "rinse". You need to use a quality carnuba wax product and build up a layer, I do mine twice over winter (4 months) to achieve lasting results. Elbow grease is the key!!

If it’s a coachbuilt or van conversion then the cab will be the same material as a motor vehicle (metal) whereas the body of the habitation area will be different (GRP or Aluminium I imagine) and require a different product.
