Hi Folks,

I have seen a few people cleaning their window rubbers while away on sites over the last few weeks and wondered firstly why they were doing this, and secondly what you would recommend me to use??

My Van is four years old and they have never been cleaned.

Kind Regards,

Paul.

They can stick or become less flexible. I would use Autoglym rubber and vinyl care. Also very good on the car door seals, as it stops them freezing in a cold winter.  However, like you we have not done it on this current van as have not had the need.

To stop window rubber becoming sticky is to rub over them with talc powder. Used by the car industry around doors, many many years ago and still works.

Cockpit shine aerosol. Open the window, spray the rubbers inside and outside rim, wipe with cloth.

Keeps the rubber supple and stops creaks and also stops moisture.

Any cheap silicon based car aerosol will do.
