We are looking for recommendations of where we can park up our motorhome for the afternoon/evening, outside of Ashton Court Estate, with good views of the Hot Air Balloons taking off from the Bristol Balloon Fiesta please?  We just want to park up on a hill somewhere and watch the balloons from the comfort of our lounge.  Any hints welcome

    Difficult one as it depends on weather conditions. You might catch the very early morning "flights" as they head for the Avon Gorge area by parking up on the Downs. Head for Bristol Zoo from Hotwells and the Downs are past the Zoo on the left. You'll need to walk towards where others are gathering. Bad weather could alter the programme. Look out for details on the Fiesta web site. Hope you see them, it's a spectacular sight! The CAMC Avon centre do a rally every year at Ashton Court, worth going as you are within a short stroll of everything including the lighting up sessions at night.
