Seasonal site

Can anyone help with recommendations for a site with seasonal pitches (and possibly winter storage) within a couple of hours' travel from Manchester? I'm asking on behalf of a friend who wants to try caravanning but is very nervous about towing. 

Her ideal site would be quiet (i.e. no clubhouse/entertainment) and on or near a coast. She would like to use the van with her grandchildren, so a  play area and clean toilets would be priorities. She would also like to be within walking distance of shops. 

I expect that there may have to be some compromises made, but if anyone has any suggestions, we'd both be very grateful.
