Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of knowhow before I go ranting to the dealership.  We recently purchased a Challenger 584 (2014) model, for its island bed feature, everything looked good on signing the paperwork and we have taken it upto Hereford and Wales so far.  However we have noticed a gap appearing between the ceiling and bathroom wall 3-4mm, also the sliding door slips out of its floor guide.

I've been underneath, and everything appears ok ( tight, sound and secure ). the van is not towed with any weight in the rear and there are no signs of movement elsewhere.. The legs are always placed firmly down on timber pads and the van is always levelled.

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome.

Cheers Mart.

Hi, we have a Challenger Sport (2014) from new and have no real problems whatsoever, We have towed to Scotland, John 0' Groats to the South coast with no problem, have had no damp problems or any major faults so the point I am making is that in general the model is good. I wonder if the problem is due to expansion in this unusually hot weather, ie the roof expanding away from bathroom wall. I take it that there is no movement on the external walls and if so it could point to the roof expansion. Maybe wait until the end of this very hot period to see if it creeps back or take to the dealer to get their opinion on it. I also presume that it was not like that when you purchased it so again it could be due to the heat.

It’s my guess that the internal dividing wall has dried out and shrunk in the heat. It could well return to normal when we get some nice cool damp air again.

Cheers guys, that seems a fair diagnosis, our van is kept on the drive which is South facing and does get blasted by the sun, especially now.
