Hot water from the cold tap

If I operate the bathroom or kitchen tap with it selected to the cold position, after a second or so it runs quite hot before cooling down again. Does anyone else have a similar problem?

The caravan is a Bailey Provence Series 6 and the hot and cold pipework is ty-wrapped together from the water heater to the taps. I have put insulation round the hot pipework as far a practical to eliminate heat transfer to the cold side but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Any ideas on how to eliminate this?

We have noticed this too. We just run the cold for a few seconds longer - it is caused by the proximity of the hot and cold pipes I believe.

yes, Moulesy is right. Usually the red and blue pipes carrying hot and cold are zip tied together so heat transfer takes place. Just a bit longer to run the cold tap.
