Personally I take my photos on my phone, use a resize app (free via Google playstore), resize to smallest. I post and add photos from my phone. Resize before starting a post 😉

There's a help thread but I rarely succeed. I’m afraid the forum isn’t very user friendly in some respects.

Life's too short to even try getting photos onto this site. No other forum I use or have ever used has required a photo to be manually re-sized to show it. Give up now before you try again. innocent

If you can find the edit function in the photo storage area of your device then you will need to reduce the photo size. Delete the size stated and reduce the number to 500. Then try selecting the image you have reduced using the "add photos" function on here.

I resize my photos using Flickr, then save on the computor hard drive and upload.

It shouldn't be necessary, but, hey this is CT! So download the app called "photo and picture resizer" and then it's all possible in just a couple of clicks (original suggestion courtesy of DSB!) smile

Sometimes a thousand words are easier than painting/posting a picture.

Posting pictures on here is relatively simple but that simplicity seems to depend on the system used. It is easier using a camera and a Windows PC/Laptop. Phones and tablets seem to be a little more difficult and I must admit I have not tried via those devices. From my PC it seems pretty straightforward.

Please keep persevering Nsgt, as others say it's not too difficult. On my desktop I bring up photo, right click it drop down box ask what you want to open with.  Usually I opt for paint.  When paint is opened along the top toolbar is resize option.  I usually select the pixel option and enter 950 and save.  Click the add photo button on here and Bob's for uncle.laughing

Thanks moulesy and DSB 😉. I'd forgotten who pointed out the app and method. Credit where it's due. In fact I'd forgotten which one it was 😂😂😂😂

Actually once you've worked it out - good exercise for the little grey cells 😉,  it is simple. It is a great 'improvement' on the old version where you couldn't add photos in a thread BUT this is the club and IT isn't a strong point 😲.

Great photo Oneputt and exactly highlights the reason for learning how to. Even more important if it's equipment etc that you need help with 😉.

Edit a quick snap literally of the sun on one of the fishing lakes at Fields End Water last evening.

Am I doing something wrong? I have opened paint 3D on my laptop but nowhere along the top bar does it say resize. Is my paint a wrong version. Any help please would be grateful.

I have never used paint 3D so can't answer your question, I use the standard version of Paint.  Will have a look at 3D later and see if I can help

If you are using W10 then Paint should also be on your system but Microsoft has sent it into the bakground in favour of Paint 3D, Paint 3D will not resize simply a 2D photo.

Right click the photo, then click on 'Open with' and the standard Paint programme should be there as an option, up at the top of the programme once opened there is a resize option.

Gee, it worked. That’s using the re-size app on the Pad.

The second is better stretched to landscape.👍🏻

It's the one I always recommend and its a free to download and use. Looking at all the photos posted it just seems you have practise a bit and away you go. At least we can post photos here, I have never seen one posted on the C&CC forum and I am not sure you can?

As Metheven has said Microsoft appear to have removed their previously named resize function. Here is another way to use it. If you store your photos in "pictures" you'll see picture tools at the top of the page.

Click on the photo you want to edit, it will highlight in blue.

Then click edit on the tool bar.

Paint will appear on the tool bar.

Hover over two small overlapping boxes near the "paste" function. These boxes represent the re-size function. Click on them and you can re-size to 500 pixels and save.

Practice doing it before you try putting a photo on here, it does get easier the more you do it.

No, Rocky, twas the other end of the country in the Hebrides. Similar weather, though.😂

The first pic is looking towards Barra airport on the beach and the sunset is West Harris.
