Getting to the age when we must consider giving up vanning. Anyone any knowledge/ideas about selling outright. Would prefer to sell with all kit, ready to go. There are a number of commercial buyers advertising in the club mag. Any knowledge of dealing with these. Any info greatly appreciated.

If I was in that position I think I would consider asking the supplying dealer to consider a commission sale on my behalf especially if you have been dealing with them for some time. The price you get might be better that way than a direct sale to a commercial buyer. You could think about selling privately as someone new to motorhoming would get a good deal because it comes fully equipped. I suppose it depends on how hands on you want to be. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Sorry to read that Fisherman. Personally I would first try sell it privately. If that failed only then would I look at the alternatives.

We sold a caravan some years ago via AutoTrader. May be worth a try for motorhome.

Advertised through Autotrader with plenty of pics. 11 people made enquiries and 2 viewed.,with others held off. Van sold today at a good price to a private buyer. Payment made direct t Bank account. Sorted out paper work and its gone. Would recommend Autotrader. The only fly in the ointment as SAGA insurance charging £50 to cancel policy, so no refund.

So pleased for you that you got a buyer.

Re SAGA we have just sold our MH and gone back to a caravan, the insurance for the MH was through SAGA and had 3 months to run.

We were offered a swap to car insurance for the remainder of the policy or a refund but minus the £50 which meant that we would have had to part with some cash. We chose to just move the policy over to the car for the remainder, we will then search again for a new year when due.
