Stopping at the caravan and motor home club site in Southport. Lovely site but just a word of warning don't stop on pitch 115 it floods luckly a couple over the way told me to be aware that it floods so I was prepared and got everything off the floor before it started. The heavy thundery rain just flows down the road and straight into the stones and into the awning. You would think the site would do something about it seeing as other people know about it they might even warn you its liable to flooding.

Parts of that site used to be a boating lake. It is very low lying. Some parts could well be below sea level. Think the large bank at the back which forms part of Rotten Row was, in fact, the ancient coastline.

I have seen seagulls swimming on the pitches from about 165 to 167 and area between them. Also the road opposite and if you did not want to wade off you needed to drive off pitches 136 to 138 on opposite side as the track was also flooded
