Hi all,

my van is a 2011 model & just realised the tyres are 2011 also.

Does anybody know of a mobile caravan tyre fitting company in the North Kent area(Petts Wood/ Bromley)?

Also silly question but are they just normal car tyres or specialist to a caravan.

Any help much appreciated

Cheers Tony

A thread just a couple of days ago had many recommendations for http://www.etyres.co.uk/    They seem to have (franchised) operators everywhere,  say they can handle Tyron bands, and offer a wide range of tyres.

My tyres do have Tyron bands fitted so they look like a good bet.

    Cheers, many thanks.

Tony, phone around your local tyre dealers and get prices.

My tyres only have 185R14c 104n on them no profile, not sure what to put in when searching online?

Ok, SE tyres are pretty good for car tyres, not sure about Tyron bands though?

I recently used Kwik Fit mobile for my caravan tyres. The service was excellent, on time and a very quick job including balancing. The bonus was that the mobile price is the same as the depot price! No mobile fitting surcharge. Choose and order your tyres on line, then book the fitting. Very easy!!

    Tony,

The lack of a profile number on your tyres means that they have a "standard" profile which is 80. The c after the numbers denotes that the tyre is for commercial vehicles and is usually of 8 ply construction (ie stronger than a normal car tyre). That is what you should specify when ordering your new tyres.

I got my last set of tyres from Home Tyres and they advised me what was the most suitable tyre.

E-Tyres fitted tyres to my previous caravan and they were equipped to handle Tyron Bands but you must make this clear when booking the visit.

We just had a mobile service on our caravan, and both tyres have cracked.  The engineer recommended e tyres or Watling tyres.  I've popped into our local Watling tyres (as I was passing) and they said they can do mobile fitting of tyres with Tyron bands.  Sorry, I don't know if they have branches in Kent, but may be worth a look.

    Hi Tony

Have used etyres on several occasions for cars, vans and caravans.  I don't suppose that they are the cheapest but are knowledgeable on car and caravan tyres and I have found them to be helpful, efficient and reliable and would recommend.  They do ask if you have Tyron fitted.

P.S. Lived for many years in Petts Wood and commuted to Cannon St. station.  My wife comes from Bromley !!

    Tony,

Do Etyres make any additional charge if you have Tyron bands?
