Hi , been scratching my head for several weeks, getting a bit sore now, can anyone recommend best , easiest, compact , camp site friendly trailers for motorbikes pls? Mine is a 240 kilo Yamaha virago 1100cc so is quite heavy to load on a trailer .

ive been internet searching and starting to not see wood for the trees any more, side loaders, easy loaders, roro trailers , standard trailers, box trailers , french 360 degree rotating wheel side loaders, all seem to have drawbacks of some kind

any help would be appreciated

many thanks

Steve

    Steve,

I've been towing my Suzuki Vstrom XT around in an Ifor Williams box trailer (BV85).

If you tow it on an open trailer it will be filthy after a wet journey. I have OCD so could not stand my bike being covered in sh## !

But the box trailer is heavy to man-handle, and relatively expensive to buy, but it serves as a neat garage on site......

The aquisition of a puppy means we are now going to tow a small car behind us on some trips rather than the bike.....

Hi Tintent115, thanks for your reply

I have been considering all sorts of options, the box trailer does seem a clean self contained option, just not sure how practical they are on campsites with tight pitches?

    Hi Steve,

I to had this problem, HD sportster 253kgs and a Honda Silver wing 230kgs. I ended up buying a Motolug trailer. It is very easy to load a bike and it is colapseabul so when we return home I take it apart and put it in the back of the garage. For me it's brilliant.
