I sterilise the white PVC pipe.....When leaving your site don’t tip away unused fresh water from your Aquaroll , but add required amount of Milton or Puriclean and by holding the shoelace, drop the pipe into the container for half an hour..This not only ensures the pipe is clean but also ensures the Aquaroll itself is ready for use next outing.

All I need now is an Aquaroll laughinglaughinglaughing

Sorry, Scottie, I know you're trying to pass on useful tips but I do think some of it really is over the top. It’s so easy to become unnecessarily fanatical about such things.

As I suggested before, there’s no point in sterilising the equipment to then throw it in a van locker wrapped in an old carrier bag. Use of a shoelace is also optional - any cord will do.

We've been caravanning and motorhoming since the early 1970s and have worked out most of the tricks and haven't poisoned ourselves yet. Still, I’m sure newbies will be glad to read your tips. 👍🏻

You presume too much Tinwheeler, after a thorough cleaning I do not throw it into a gass locker.

I presumed nothing but simply made a point so there was no need to be defensive.

Time to drain the water now, methinks. smile

I find all this hygiene stuff takes the taste out of the water.

I use a large plastic funnel to fill my aquaroll

In nearly thirty years of caravanning I've only found one tap where this didn't work - in Spain where there was a fancy stone plinth built around the tap

I think many of us have either made our own or bought from a club site.

Well, we just returned from our first ever outing with our Ttent, WHICH didn't have a hose.  So reading this now, when I'm home, I'm pretty excited about this idea.  I think I'll be looking for some piping now.

Any advice for a missing grey water hose?  Get a grey pipe I suppose?

I too have been doing this for years, never thought of the string thing though, I just hold it by hand - doesn't stop me chatting to the person waiting next in line though. Whilst in Glasgow in that freezing weather (mad tourer) I lagged my tank and to save unwrapping it every time I used a couple of old 5 litre bottles to top up it up. They too fit over any tap!
