Toilet bowl cleaner.
Hi All,
Our Thetford toilet bowl which is only 12 months old is looking a bit yellow & needs a clean to bring it back to white. What can we use? I'm guessing this topic has been covered before but couldn't find results.
Thanks

Thetford do make a toilet cleaner as well

I think the problem with using an abrasive cleaner like Cif is that it will slightly roughen the surface of the plastic leading to quicker re-staining.
I've only ever known staining occur when a cleaning agent has been used. At one time the manufacturers used to say nothing other than water should be used.

I always use lemon juice, Cif carefully as a last resort.

I believe toothpaste works well. Apparently it removes the staining and applies a coating. (You may not want to carry on using your toothbrush afterwards though)

Haven't needed to try anything on our (18 yr old) Thetford toilet bowl in the year since we've owned the caravan, but know that white vinegar does a truly amazing job on all sorts of things, from our domestic washing machine, where we use it rather than any other commercial detergent, to getting the limescale off the shower curtain in our house, caused by hard water.
Bicarb of Soda's another low-damage, wonderfully effective cheap thing.I'd be very wary of anything chemically tougher, or abrasive, as already commented here.
As ever, trying a small amount of anything on an inconspicuous bit seems a good idea...
