The pundits are suggesting it could be a three way competition with Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. It the later have managed to overcome some really terrible reliability problems I think they could be in with a shout as they have the strongest driver pairing assuming they don't knock each other off the track!!! However never underestimate Lewis he is quick and very hard to beat. Difficult to say about Vettel, he is good when things are going his way but can be a bit of a diva when they don't. For an outside bet for a team to do well you could keep an eye on Toro Rosso. If Honda have managed to catch up and get over the reliability difficulties it could be a much better engine this year. The drivers are not very experienced in F1. If it goes well for Honda do we see their engines in the senior team in a year or two's time. An interesting coincidence that both Honda and Red Bull are based in Milton Keynes

Hamilton can let his head get the better of him to. Ā Think it will be a few races before we can really tell. Ā Just hope Ferrari can make a reasonable showing.
The mid field could produce so really close racing and throw up some surprisesĀ

It'll be my last season watching as it goes fully subscription next year. I think by the end of this season I'll have had enough anyway.

That might stop a lot of us watching. I used to be a very enthusiastic watcher, even getting up in the middle of the night for some of the races. Tend to be reasonably happy to watch the highlights now. I quite like the Channel Four programmes, never really warmed to Martin Brundle. I wonder what options we will have? The way things are going its likely to be via the internet?

I have to say, I found the whole race incredibly boring. I can only recall oneĀ overtaking manoeuvre, a couple of yellow flags and Haas being very impressive for a while.
Nice to see Alonso getting credit for his drive, but I found the whole episode extremely dull.Ā
What next from the new owners? Round and round an oval circuit??

A good race from Red Bull's perspective, at least for Daniel Ricciardo, Aussie Grit as I am sure Mark Webber would say. Each of the three top teams have now won two races each. A bit early to suggest its wide open although I suspect it would take something for Red Bull to overhaul Mercedes and Ferrari especially as they seems to have the worse reliability?

I somehow doubt that will ever happen. It's a wonderful location with a great atmosphere. I suspect it also attracts more of the rich and powerful than any other race.Daniel Ricciardo did what he needed to do and that was to control the race with what may have been terminal engine problems. The other drivers could have made it a bit more exciting by overtaking him but they probably thought we have second and third comfortably in the bag so why bother? I thought it a bit rich for Lewis Hamilton to complain it was dull when he could have done something about it rather than just a damage limitation exercise!

But as often been said with the current aero itās easy to catch another car but following at less than a second is near on impossible particularly on a tight track like Monaco. The other aspect is that very few incidents are deemed āracing incidentsā so drivers know there is a probability they are going to get penalised and points on their license

Alonso also complained the race was boring. TBH, for me, It wasn't "racing" as we know it - more of a Sunday procession, the likes of which you can see on any A or B road in the UK.
I find it hard to believe Ferrari and in particular Vettel, who was right up Riccardo's exhaust with 50 odd laps to go, didn't even manage a single overtake attempt and yet Verstappen virtually drove through half the field!
I doubt Stewart, Shumacher, Moss, Senna et al would have taken a similar stance?

The latest debacle in France has done absolutely nothing to help my dwindling love of the sport. And those wretched blue lines - what's that all about??!!!!!!
After watching the first lap and the usual "comings together as everyone jostles for position" I reached for the paracetamol, closed my eyes and waited for the excitement in the commentators' voice to rise, thus signalling a moment to watch.
I saw the chequered flag. All very dull I'm afraidĀ

Bit of a surprise at the Austrian GP today. Both Mercs as DNF's. Given the strategy issues as well, there does seem to be a loss of focus at the Silver Arrows at the moment.
