Henley Four Oaks: Train to London

We shall be staying at Henley Four Oaks over the Easter weekend.

We plan on heading to London by train on Easter Sunday and maybe once more either on the Saturday or on Easter Monday.

I’ve discounted catching a train from Henley and changing at Twyford, prefering to drive to a station where we can catch a direct train to Paddington.

I’ve been looking at Reading, Twyford and Maidenhead.

Can anyone tell me which would be easier in terms of getting there from Henley and how easy it would be to find somwhere to park in the station car park? Are there any other stations that I should look into?

I would be very grateful for any tips.

    In 2012 I picked up my son from Henley (he works in London) but when it was time for him to go back to work I dropped him off at Twyford. Not sure what the parking was like as I just dropped him off. I wonder if Google Earth might give you an impression of what the parking might be like. Henley seems to have a good car park and I assume it wouldn't be as busy on a bank holiday as a working day.

    Trains from Henley are ok the station is an easy walk no parking fee (if ok walking) from Four Oaks site and it is about 12min connection for london train

    Husband has taken the train from Twyford, he says it is not easy to park there as very little space.

    Check if the trains are actually running. The Great Western electrification and Crossrail integration are taking precedence at Bank Holidays at short notice due to the late delivery of the infrastructure so far. The rail replacement bus service is not the same!!!

     

    On Easter sunday I'd drive into London as parking restrictions are lifted. Depending where you want to go to drive to Hammersmith and park in the Kings Mall car park, walk to the tube. Or if you want to be in the Westminster area, lots of on street parking around the area.
