Isn't  this just the best story to emerge from the Oscars 2018? I've only seen a few clips of this film shown on local TV but you can tell just how excited little Maisie Sly was getting about it all. It's good that the effects of profound deafness will gain a higher profile as a result of this.

Almost restores your faith in the film industry doesn't it? smile

    Was there not a film back in the 50s or 60s ?? about a deaf child called Heidi ?

    Kastaris. I think the film you mentioned was called Mandy. I remember seeing it with my mother. I have a deaf friend who was sent away in the 50s  to "deaf" school aged five.

    I'm recording it - watching Mastermind. Also recording programme about cathedrals. So much worth watching at the same time 😲. Looking forward to watching it.

    Programmes do seem a bit like buses. Nothing then three come along together.
