Potable or not?

Whether on sites or hotels at home or abroad do you trust notices like this? Never thought of how those purchasing plastic bottled water are supporting the plastics industry and I must admit these are a major contributor to litter around our coasts and roadsides.

I would certainly hope in this country you could trust the local tap water. I drink bottled water because I prefer the taste, not because I think it is any better for me. We do recycle the bottles responsibly though.😀

Recycling is a slightly better option in the hands of the thoughtful but still not the best. The process of recycling is energy hungry and it involves the reintroduction of oil based products as new plastics must still be introduced into this 'vicious' cycle. The old reusable glass bottles we had as kids may have be slightly better but did H&S get their hands on that?

I think there was a bit on the news some weeks ago that the water companies were installing  drinking water points for refilling water bottle in shops etc as a rolling program across the uk

That's a great idea, however the problem will be persuading the majority of the British public to use them. They'd rather chuck their empty bottles in the hedgerows, from what we see out walking.

You  can  only  HOPE  for  that  SteveL  !!

Should  you  head  n/west  to  Kinlochewe  you  will  find  something  similar  to  this  on  the  Facilities ===>

Do  not  worry  if  you  see  a  dramatic  change  in  water  colour  after  a  rain  storm.  There  has  NOT  been  a  Miracle,  but  the  water  used  locally  will  pick  up  colour  from  the  peat  it  runs  thro  !!  We  recommend  that  you  put  the  whisky  in  the  glass  FIRST  then  add  the  water  !!

We drink the water in the UK, Portugal and France but not in Spain. Our water in Wales is lovely.

I wondered why the restaurants in the USA served their tap water with so much ice until I tried it at room temperature. Disgusting!
