Smoke/steam from heater vent

On two occasions recently I've noticed smoke or steam coming from a caravan heater vent ( both times roof mounted). Our caravan doesn't do this  and I know the majority of caravans don't either.  I wondered should I have gone and had a word , or is this usual with some systems and am I concerned about nothing?

It'a a common occurrence when they are heating the caravan with gas. I would guess that it's just water vapour and no need to be concerned.

Even a household gas fired boiler will emit steam in cold weather.

The water in the exhaust evaporates in summer but in winter condenses out in the form of steam.

If it were smoke issuing forth, then that would be a different matter.

When it comes to caravan safety it does pay to check.

It's what the vent is there for.
