Hello Poppy, welcome to CT, there is an area under the title, Centres, Rallies and Special Interests on here that has a Solos section. Hopefully you'll find some information on there about solo groups and others who van on their own. If you scroll down the discussion page section titles you should be able to find it, but here's a quick link.
Click on the link and it should take you to the right area, good luck.
If you can't find the link come back on here and someone will come to the rescue.

Hello Poppy, never feel alone, as far as I am aware there is somewhere in the region of 450 Solos people that I know of.
Its a mix of divorced and widowed, with a few single people and partners that tour when the other is at work.
Solos Touring have many people who caravan/Motorhome all year round, form the top of Scotland and all places south.
Solos Touring has a section on the forum under Diary Dates. Hopefully you can either add or join in with the dates.
no obligation, fee’s or personal details required. You joined the C&MC so those are the rules set down by the club.
We are not a dating section, just on that can hopefully help people to enjoy their breaks away with like minded people. We do try to have a meet up in the evening to natter, laugh, play games and just socialise.
i hope I meet up with you soon.
Vivien.

As do non-solos. And we make solos very welcome as some of us have been solo in the past and know that we did not like it at all.

I didn’t know there was a solos section. When I was widowed a few years ago I joined The Loners. There are other singles groups. I toured alone for a couple of years and didn’t like it, just didn’t want to give up so the group was a God-send.

Hi Nora, the Solos Touring, which was devised for solo people in the then caravan Club started its beginning over 6 years ago. It faded away until myself and 5 others got Solos Touring off the ground. This all happened 5 years ago. With many meets and greets behind us, we have met many new friends along our way.
a couple of years back, things in the Caravan Club changed and the Solos Touring section was squashed to bits, last year I suffered ill health and the Solos Touring began to fall by the way side. However, I am a not prepared for any people to close a needed facility.
We pay our membership fee’s to the now Caravan and Motorhome Club, so it was decided originally, there would be no subscriptions or membership rules and regulations. We abide by the sites rules and hopefully have an enjoyable time away. We pitch where we want, as not everyone wants to be next to the dog walk, nor too far away. We are adults and don’t need to be awake at certain times in the morning either. We also come and go as we please, after all it’s your holiday not a concentration camp. We do try to meet up in the evenings, or if someone is going somewhere and they ask for company, then a companion is nice.
One thing that we do not do is intrude into your private life asking for full name, address, age etc, that is your business. We also do not constantly send emails or make phone calls, it’s up to you to check in Diary Dates to see if there is a meet you fancy or if you want to add details of a trip away you fancy. There is no guarantee who or how many will join in, but everyone that does is a bonus.

Hello Poppy. I too am widowed and have joined a few solo caravan clubs but they have never quite worked out. I drove 150 miles to one meet where only 2 other people turned up and they knew each other very well, in fact lived very close to each other and went off together so I was still left on my own which makes you feel even more lonely. I injured my back last year and sold my caravan but I miss the thought of the freedom so am seriously considering buying a small motorhome which would be easier for me to handle but I don't want to caravan alone any more. I too have a small dog so if you wander about a town or visit anywhere you need someone to hold onto the dog while you pop into the loo or something. Also having company in the evenings is very important. If you or someone else out there wants a caravanning buddy to meet up with please reply. Incidentally, my little dog is called Poppy. Pat.
