Somehow, I doubt it is a Club site.

why do you think it's a club site and where did you get it from? That might help?

It's not a Club site, it is a random photo by a North American photographer Jennifer Bogle, and more than likely purchased off 'Shutterstock' <HERE> where its for sale , so probably a place across the water.

Strange the club should use it on their site to attract newcomers "Be part of the Club", yet the photo is of a place so far away <HERE>

The presence of the big potted whatever by the door and the pile of bricks or blocks, plus the fact it looks like an American RV, does kind of give it away!

The lakeside photo on the "be part of the club" looks distinctly North American with big holiday homes in the woods.

Obviously, not enough hints for those responsible for these things.   The main hint being it isn't hardstanding

I could call it grossly misleading but in reality it's just sloppy, lazy and incompetent.

    good post,

so the club paid a min of $249??? Not cheaper to buy an Kodak instamatic for a warden?smile

    This one perhaps?

To be fair, the club didn’t use all of the picture, perhaps they negotiated a discount.  The instamatic looks good value for money but you haven’t factored in the cost of the flight to the USA for the Warden so that they could take the snap.

It just goes to show you should take everything you see with a pinch of salt where this club is concerned.

    Party in a brewery again.

Just a bit more of the recent hype following the name change. Pure unrefined, BS

It could be a seasonal pitch on the C&CC  Mendip hills site , when the Priddy folk music festival is on .....usually July time .

    In other words I don't  really have a clue......😇

This link tells you all you need to know and more!  Looks like they booked a seasonal pitch which narrows the search down a bit.

You would think the club would ask its' own members first and foremost to send them their photos of sites visited. What planet are these people at Grimstead Towers living on?

I may be wrong but I have a vague recollection of Rowena asking us to do exactly that some time back.

I remember last year where the Club asked members to send in their photos, I believe it was quite wide ranging themes but nearly every post was moaning about copyright, and the other few were quite happy just to have theirs published.

I sent one in but never came to anything.

Apologies Tw, I was still (slowly) typing laughing

Nellie, We paid them, and we also paid for this internet site that I believe they bought off the shelf in America. The terms and conditions have ‘funny’ spellings. I think that’s why they can’t alter it.

As said previously that particular photo came from a blog site in Washington, USA, who is it that edits and passes these promotions? It's hard to believe the club aren't visually promoting the UK. I tried to find something similar on the C&CC web pages but they seem well grounded in promoting their ethos and sites in the UK.

I did wonder whether the N Americans might consider using photos of our local fishponds to promote the Great Lakes....wink

As has been suggested many times before, those running the business have never been caravanners of any type and these picture just show what they "think" it might all look like.
