how much is a pet passport? I've looked on internet and it seems to be anywhere between £20 to £300 , seems to be a big variation!!!

Providing your pet is microchipped, up to date on vacs then the rabies injection cost us £28 three years ago and the passport at £33, this included a health check. That is all that is needed but costs will vary a little from area to area and vet to vet.

Last year we had to only renew the rabies injection at £31.

It is worth looking around. There was £60 difference between my regular Vets and one I have used occasionally. I therefore had the passport done at the cheaper Vets. Make sure you ask for price of passport and rabies injection and not just passport. Same applies to the vet checks and worming when coming home, we have paid 17euros and 39 euros and the closer to the port you are the more they seem to charge. The cheaper Vets tend to be in the less tourist areas.

it really is worth calling a few different Vets.

Our practice veterinary nurse advised me (on the quiet!) that whilst they charged about £30 for the rabies injection, the charge for the passport was £75 which she considered extortionate and that some practices would issue it for as little as £5!!

There are so many variables between Vets and what your dog has already had one,  that all you can do is ring up a few Vets who are local to you and get some quotes.  Ask for something like 'Everything to get the pet passport issued for my dog.............. who is/is not already chipped/vaccinated against rabies/etc/' and see what prices they come up with.  We saved £60 by going to a new vet rather than the one we'd used for ages, and not only that they charge a lot less for other booster injections too

I paid £90 for the passport and rabies jab in January 2015. The rabies this year was £54.
