What a load of bull the booking system, got list prepared managed to get one site booked and then locked out, cannot get back in to book continuous holiday booking from the one I actually booked whilst touring a particular area, why couldn’t the system stop as it was last year. I have honored every booking made in 2017 which was quite a few. So they should charge a deposit for each booking.

It does say in the header that you can only make one booking then wait for another slot same for everybody.

The system is exactly as last year. One booking and you get thrown out. Then you have to get back in again to make a second. Then thrown out again and have to get back in to make a third etc.

This means everyone gets a fair crack.

Outside of booking day you can make as many sequential bookings as you like.

System worked correctly for us, one booking and thrown out. I suppose with any system there will be glitches.

I agree it can be a pain if you are booking a holiday and need several different sites - but I do think the way it has been done is fair to everyone a few years back you used to be able to book several sites in a time slot and people could never get on a site because it was full. Ive booked 1 today and that is in April at Rowntree I'm not booking anymore till later today

Just booked 3 sites this morning laughing That's the only fixed dates we wanted.

Baltic Wharf for Easter. Bladon Chains for Countryfile Live weekend and Uttoxeter for a Bank Holiday weekend.

All from the middle of the Bay of Biscay on board a cruise ship via a satellite connection. So the CAMC system works for me. laughing

It would not be beyond the capabilities of a simple change in the booking system to allow a follow on booking to be made that would be continuous with the one already made.

I only wanted to make one booking at York Rowntree Park and it was made in less than a minute after logging into the Club site. Some of the weekend where already full especially those with awnings.

No bull and no glitches at all. Worked exactly as it says on the tin.

Made 6 bookings before 8.45, each time going back to the main page and being patient. Quite a simple system really, and like it or not, those are the rules wink

Booked the 4 sites we wanted this year by 8.30am. Feel sorry for those Members who still work and are therefore not available to book sites on a Wednesday morning.

Booking no problem. 3 bookings done by 8:35 & that was 2 at Chatsworth & Rookesbury Park. Thought we'd leave all other bookings for later. Decided we'd book Incleboro Fields as it's in the middle of the school's summer holidays. Logged in again at about 9:30 & got straight in to the bookings, no wait at all. Good system

Worked fine for everybody else. It can take four or five minutes to get back in to make a booking but that does not mean system down. Just takes a little patience to wait your turn

I tried to get on a 45 seconds past eight but couldn't until 26 minutes later when it appeared as though there was no problem at all booking one site after another. I noted at 1030a.m. Rowntree has every weekend in 2018 booked!

Roundtree may be more booked up though as Beechwood Grange is closed, I was going to book Beechwood and then fortunately managed to get Roundtree but no awning instead.

I do think using Rowntree Park as an argument that the system is wrong is a fallacy. Quite apart from its perennial popularity (for obvious reasons) the non availability of Beechwood Grange will have exaggregated the problem.

(Not defending they system, by the way, I'd much prefer a rolling programme and having lived in York for 4 years, I'm quite happy to leave Rowntree to others,)

If KeefySher can book three sites from his complimentary hour's free wifi on the Queen Elizabeth halfway across the Bay of Biscay, there can't be an awful lot wrong with the operation of the system. That's not to say that a "Frenzy Day" is necessarily the best way to organise things.

I gave up trying at 8.50. I only wanted the one site for New Year.

Then tried by telephone, sometimes it connected and was put on hold but it never got answered and sometimes I was automatically disconnect.

    Oh well, c'est la vie

If KeeefySher had been in the half of our village that hasn't got fast broadband instead of a well equipped cruise ship with up to date communications the results might have been very different. Would it be better for some of us to join a cruise for next years booking day...? wink

    I wanted to book Castleton.

I did try again after 5pm. Castleton full but I did manage to get booked in at Moreton in the Marsh which showed space for all pitches on all dates in Dec.

    Have had confirmation email.

When looking before I looked at Seacroft, Norfolk. Something odd there. All dates from mid December for all pitches right through January were showing full.

Are you sure that was for 2017/18, Harry? I thought you could only book to 4 Jan for 2018/19. wink

(Not suggesting you hadn't checked BTW! smile)
