Can I suggest you take a look on the Caravanchat Forum WTG? Free to join, but you can probably browse as a guest. If you look under the sites heading, you will find Uk split into countries, and lots of lovely independent sites, and Club based sites, CLs and CS's, most with a very informative review and pictures to help you choose. Same for overseas as well. Hope this helps.

Edit: like you, we have both a MH and a caravan, so compile reviews around suitability for both.

There are just so many, so I will stick to my home county here. At one end of Cornwall I suggest Willow Valley at Bude, and at the other end Poldown  near Helston - high scoring reviews for both of them are already on UKCampsite.co.uk.

Beech croft between Buxton and Bakewell on A6. Very clean well run All HS with water to each pitch.

Cheddar Bridge sits next door to Cheddar CMC.

Both great sites and lower cost.

At the beginning of August we went to Dumfries & Galloway for a fortnight and one of the sites we stayed at was Kings Green Caravan Park at Port William,  It is a site which is run by the community, different wardens come in morning and late afternoon; you can reserve a pitch or just turn up, which is what we did.  Weather wasn't too good, although we did have a couple of nice days.  Right on the beach with views of the Isle of Man (in clear weather!).  Toiletblock is basic but clean with showers, WCs and basins and there is even a washing machine which is free to use!

We thought this was a lovely area, and were quite surprised that we were able to cycle good distances: one day we cycled to Garlieston, and another to the Isle of Whithorn.  Really nice cycling on fairly empty roads, with fantastic views everywhere.  On the other day we just managed to go for a short walk in the morning before the heavens opened and it stayed wet and windy all day!

Would definitely return to that area.
