Next Easter (2 weeks) my wife and I intend taking the highway 500 route around Scotland. Has anyone done this? any tips and advice you can give would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Hi atky7, we haven't done the 500 specifically, but have on similar roads and around the area. Just take your time on the single tracks. But also let the locals past. Top up with fuel and food when you can as these can be sparse or not where you decide to stop. There are more than enough sites to choose from and I'm sure you'll do your research on these. Above all enjoy!. We love the remote roads and views too. Cheers, Alex.
