quite unbelievable all round, a full page add, which someone must have approved, designed, costed, then a link with a pass code which again shows planning, someone had to make the webpage, and someone must have approved it. It might (big might) have been an oversight it went live but it was all there ready to go live. Doesn't this show a lot of planning had gone on? I think someone pulled the plug at the last minute.

Sorry, guys, I assumed the subject Pump King was something to do with Halloween or Cinderella’s coach. It seems a fairy story was not that far from the truth!!

I'm another who sighed up to this.

Funny that the Pump-king.co.uk website looks very different to what I signed up to? Just prompts for a log in box and quess what my details, that I signed up with, no longer work.

Also the parent web address seems to have disappeared:

"Your message wasn't delivered to accounts@pump-king.com because the address couldn't be found"

Do a Whois Lookup on either pump-king.com

    Registrant Name: Registration Private
Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
    Registrant Street: DomainsByProxy.com

    or pump-king.co.uk

    Domain name:
    pump-king.co.uk

    Registrant:
Name withheld. This Registrant is using a privacy service.

    Registrant's address:
Address withheld. This Registrant is using a privacy service.

This seems very odd for a legitimate business?

I will be contacting my bank first thing on Monday and will be holding CAMC Ltd responsible for any spurious spending on my account that has anything to do with "Pump-King"

Is it possible that The Caravan Club were being scammed in a big way and someone found out at the last minute and was able to block it, and cancel the big announcement at the show?

Did anyone in CAMC do any form of research before publishing this offer?

I've found all this with five minutes of Googling!

There are a couple of links on Google which appeared in the earlier thread but they now lead nowhere as did the CT links just before the thread vanished.

Yes I thought it was one of those predictive text errors. Not that we use motorway fuel unless desperate. The latest offer hardly touches the price difference.

Unless the contractor decided to do it without the clubs approval, you know, just like the planning debacle where the club blamed Seville’s surprised

Harribo, i have the same problem, but dont think this was a scam, have checked my bank this morning and all is ok, they have only taken the original £2 which was the admin fee, i think CAMHC screwed up in a big way and have now taken the site down, will be interesting to see how they wriggle out of this one, i was told somebody from CAMHC or PK would contact me directly but nothing as yet. I wonder how many people signed up for this and are totally unaware of the problem. For those who havent seen it yet, take a look at FB re the adverse comments re the new offering, shambles all round i think

Navigateur, it is the clubs facebook page, the comments are towards the Shell card they have offered for use on Motorways only, it is not a group on FB

I've just been reading the FB responses to this, it's utterly ridiculous for club staff to be responding at this level to so many people, what a waste of staff time. This is not the real world, people feel strongly about motorway fuel pricing why not lobby the industry instead of promoting dubious offers?!

Quite agree Brue.  Out of interest are staff responding on weekend days?

Despite what we are told about CT being important there is nowhere near the  level of response given to FB, in fact it's often several days before staff comment and that's usually after someone has reported an issue/thread rather than staff reading threads.  Far less moderation, possibly a good thing? since the 'upgrade' far fewer posts and far fewer staff comments with more staff introduced to assist with posts.  CT the foor relation??????????????????  You may think that but I couldn't possibly comment wink

I don't check the Club FB page very often, seems to be little of interest unless you know of something like this issue.  A bit of a faff to use as the replies from staff or others have to be opened up and sometimes when you return, you're not where you left!!!

Unbelievable level of response to virtually every post involving at least three staff members. What a waste of resources. Why not let people respond, thank them and explain at the end. If CT was run on the same lines it would look equally ridiculous. A waste of club time and money. frown

I would like something more than "As it stands the offer with Pump-King is not available"

Why is that? What do you know that you are not telling us?

(other than what I have posted earlier)

You can post it here or reply to me, in person, via my email or home address as in my sign up details.

I would like an official CAMHC explanation regarding this ... not just an email from you stating "Unfortunately, this offer is not available and the webpages should not have been accessible; this was caused by a digital indexing problem which has now been rectified."

As I have had no response to my emails to "pump-king.co.uk" I have had in depth talks with my bank this evening, explaining what has happened regarding the CAMHC offer,  and their anti fruad team is investigating.

CAMHC, you may well get a call from them .

I will be issued a new debt card and now I have the hassle of adjusting all regular payments from it  .... thanks for that

Harrib0, not had any unexplained events on my visa card as yet, but like you am not too happy re CAMHC lack of response and failure to take ownership of this problem. If the worst happens and my card is used illegally I will just make CAMHC responsible for this. Very annoying, and as previous people have said, CAHMC can waste resource replying to hundreds of FB entries but we see very few replies on CT, very bad form

£2 taken from my account, as explained when I signed up, and no other transactions. I am therefore not overly bothered that I might be scammed.

However this does not absolve the club from its responsibilities in this matter.

i signed up for this offer. Received email from CAMHC on Friday 20 October stating that Pump King will be refunding the £2 joining fee as the web page should not of been accessible and there is no timeline for this offer.

ISTM that everything CAMC touches turns to ashes. Senior management seem to have totally lost control.

Yes it certainly is, a more in depth explanation is needed as to why a full page advert happened in the magazine as well as the active links with a CAMC code for enrollment.

An "As it stands the offer with Pump-King is not available" does not cut it as an answer, especially to those who enrolled in good faith.

How has a full page in the magazine got anything to do with digital indexing?

How has setting up a webpage with joining code got anything to do with digital indexing?

I'm always happier with 'we made a mistake' or 'that offer was rescinded too late for publication' than 'it's a digital indexing error'.

(It's not a digital indexing error. Databases can't do that sort of thing)

The previous details Pump King Caravan and Motorhome Club can be found on google, marked as hidden they are readable.

For the first time I made use of a proxy vote at the AGM. I will be interested to hear about the meeting even though I can't attend.
