We are planning a trip to Scotland in 2018 including a stay on the Braemar site before making our way up to Dunnet Bay. To do this, we will have to retrace our steps to the Bridge of Cally and then take the A924 to Pitlochry. I've Google mapped the A924 and there looks to be a longish stretch of single track with only minimal passing places. Our outfit is approx 12 metres and whilst I have towed on single track before, there seemed to be more frequent and better signed passing places. If anyone has towed along this road, their thoughts and advice will be much appreciated.

The problem with the Braemar area is that you are stuck for easy access north. In September we used the A294 from Pitlochry to access the route to Banchory in our motorhome. To head north from Banchory we used the Tomintoul route from the Ballater area, not good for caravans. I think you will manage the A294 with care, don't take the short cut B950 as we did and you should be ok. The alternative is a much longer route via Huntly etc ( we have done that too and it is longer!) We didn't find the A294 busy even though there was an event on in Pitlochry.

Thanks for that blue. I think I may fall back on my plan B which was to continue down the A93 to Blairgowrie then pick up the A923 before joining the A9 at Dunkeld as it doesn't look to have any single track. Although it is a bit longer than plan A we are breaking our journey north at Rothiemurchus.
