Just picked up my new 2017 Vigo today and to my horror there appears to be no alarm / pir system installed. I haven't owned a van for two decades that doesn't have this. I am appalled that the dealer I have used all these years blithely didn't mention this and stupid me for assuming.

Question for anyone else who bought a Vigo earlier this year - do you solely rely on the Tracker?

If not what after sales security system have you fitted please? Now need to upgrade my insurance to cover lack of alarm!

    Aftermarket alarms are readily available.

I don't recall ever buying a new 'van that had an alarm factory fitted.

I think I'm right in saying that Bailey discontinued factory-fitting alarms in the U3 in 2015. Ours certainly didn't have one and I had one fitted in conjunction with the Tracker.

My U2 (2014) had tilt sensors, a pir and siren. The U3 doesn't but the 2018 series does and comes installed under the Tracker banner.

After long discussion with my dealer I have returned my van so it can be retro fitted with a Gemini system that appears to favoured by Phantom.

Just happier to know that it will make a noise if someone forces the door open. Probably more an emotional response than a practical one but it gives my wife and I a certain peace of mind.

Does anybody do anything if an alarm is sounding these days, apart from complain about the noise ,if it goes on for any length of time undecided

New U4 now has an alarm, as did my U1 and senator, Avondale.

Hi, we had a 2015 Bailey Cadiz which also had no alarm and it was worth fitting one as the Club insurance gives 10% discount a year so I got my expense back in three years. The 2018 Bailey Unicorn models have an alarm fitted so left my alarm in for its new buyer.
