Awning size

Hi Guys , this is probably a stupid question but the wife and I were discussing our full awning which we bought for our old van (abbey vogue 495) 7.18m shipping length awning size 971cm .  Our present van (compass corona 574) 7.2?m shipping length awning size 1005cm and the awning just fits as shown in photo . Question is if we change our van again (wife wants an island bed)  how will the extra length affect the fit ? Island bed vans are approx. 18 inches longer I can't quite picture it in my mind as to what the main snag will be ?  I'm thinking it'll lift the awning so that the skirts probably won't reach the floor ?
