The best toilet cassette treatment?

Which cassette  treatment do folks think is the best/most effective?

l find Elsan double blue very effective and good value but it makes me 'gag' if you know what I mean! Thetford is quite expensive; their latest one, Lavender, is more pleasant but even more expensive! What are the 'single treatments like, the ones which use the same fluid for the flush?

I tried Lidl Bio active washing tablets for the first time on my last trip. They seemed to cope with breaking down the waste but smells were definitely evident, something i've never noticed with "blue", and i still used the same amount of "pink".

I think i will return to diamond blue when ive used all the tablets.

Odd things going on. Comment from swimangela above is listed as number 1, so where was the one in which she asked the question?

I use the Thetford blue as, although it is expensive, I think its best for breakdown and killing the smells. In the flush I now use about a tablespoon of Domestos per fill instead of the pink stuff. I find it works well and keeps the bowl clean.

Its good to revisit old themes occasionally!

Elsan Green, so just the one bottle to carry around. We have found it works well in high temperatures abroad. 75ml in 2L of water in the waste tank for night time visits, empty after 4 days and no odours. If you have a separate flush tank then just add a splash so you can notice a slight change in colour. This eliminates the black gunge build up you get when using the pink stuff in the flush. We now flush from our main tank so use a 1L spray bottle with a weak pine disinfectant around the bowl a couple of times a day.

I tend to buy any green product available when I need it. The very cheap ones seem to work as well as the more expensive ones though.

I've never liked the green for a variety of reasons, I buy the blue but from various makers at the best price, usually out dealer's own brand but good prices are sometimes available elsewhere when there're offers on

However I always buy the sachets not the fluid, easy to use and no mess.

Out of interest, what are your "variety of reasons" as they may help others get a broader view on the subject.

@eribaMotters I don't like the smell at all before use compared to the blue and certainly don't like the smell when emptying as it doesn't really mask anything unlike the blue, it's not as good as the blue at doing its job in terms of breaking things down as Toby said upthread, it's usually more expensive, and my local dealer never did a dealer and cheaper version anyway, and we prefer separate pink.

All my own experiences of course and everyone makes up their own mind. Writing about it probably only gives an idea but the only conclusive way to to test both and see which one one prefers?
