Dometic fridge disaster
just coming to end of first week in Luxembourg. Have had glorious weather in superb surroundings. Been 31 degrees today and the fridge has packed up!! No lights show on controls. This is a 2013 Lunar SB Clubman. I would say the fridge has not been on for 3 months since we bought the van from new. Just filled fridge with several days of fresh meat.
Have checked fuse, everything. cannot switch to gas.
Any suggestions to help, folks?

Can't help with anything to do with electrics another than say have you checked it's still on EHU set up. Obvious and silly I know! You've done the only other thing I could suggest with the fuse.
Does it work on gas? Some recommend lighting a gas ring before lightening fridge to ensure gas flows.
Good luck. Jolly jolly frustrating after spending all that money on meat. Can you cook the meat and keep in fridge on gas? Modern technology is a wonderful thing, but I prefer basic 😉 these newer models are too complex - not just on and off.

My immediate suggestion would be to dash out and buy an electric coolbox to keep the food in meantime, keep it in the shade.
Is it the case that it cannot be switched to gas at all? Or that you have too little gas?
Is everything else in the van working? Both mains and 12v?
Which fuse did you check? Our fridge is plugged in using an ordinary plug/socket, so there is a fuse there to check too on ours. Also. wires can come loose in plugs, and even in sockets.
Does your model use a battery pack at all, some do? Could be the PCB.

Apologies for late reply. Internet diffficulties in Luxembourg but as I have this message twice without success it may be this site is the problem. My fridge is dead.Lights showingfridge on battery came on and the warning bleep assailed us every 20 minutes through the night!
Impossible to switch off even by switcing off electrics. Called into a dealer on way to Diekirch where an engineer examined almost everything for 90 minutes. Even called Dometic for advice. He finally reckoned water had gone from sink into circuit board. Kaput!
He said I could wait a week for Dometic parts to arrive. He disconnected power and I purchased a £75 electric cool box and a 2 pin adapter. it has done us OK so far. I use the defunct fridge as a wine storage cupboard. Happy days!

Hi,
I had a similar problem this year in France. Solved by removing control panel at front and cleaning with contact cleaner. All good I expect as your engineer said it was damp getting in from top from wiping fridge with wet cloth.
I have now sealed crack with silicon.
Don't through it away clean and resuse.
