Removing Tree Sap from Windows

Having returned from Italy we have a thick tree sap 'run' on one of our windows. A couple of smaller blotches I have managed to get off with baby wipes but this one blotch won't move. I have also tried white vinegar but this hasn't worked either.

Can anyone suggest anything else please? Really fearful of damaging the plastic!

There are a number of ways; I use hand cleansing stuff with a high alcohol content!  Gently rub on, leave a few minutes then wash off.   It should remove the tree sap

I had the same problem and got these replies earlier in August.  I couldn't source any of the products and did try Wd 40 which seemed to work and didn't damage the window, although I washed it immediately after and then used a suitable window cleaner.  However, just having washed the roof and it was plastered with sap which I have litttle, chance of removing, same with the awning!

Thanks for the ideas. In the end used Methylated Spirits, washing off right away. Worked well.
