Hi all,

Contemplating change to one of the above.

Any thoughts on which is the better tow car?

Thanks All.

A lot depends if you need extra grip on a muddy field, I have the Octavia Estate 4x4 does well for me when that extra grip is needed on rally fields and 5 van sites. The 4x4 has Haldex traction used in a lot of other cars, puts around 90% power to the front wheels and 10% to rear, when the front starts to slip more power is sent to the rear. Engines are very good, mine is, even after the emissions fix!

Both Superbs come out very good in test reports for towing.

As CR notes, surely it is how you want to deploy the power that is the significant factor, rather than the power itself. On normal surfaces with non excessive use of the right foot when pulling away, we found front wheel drive towing fine. However, throw in a steep slippery or loose slope, such as a wet ferry ramp. Or as mentioned above a muddy field and the 4x4 scores every time.

oh it seems we have a duplicate thread again, so I expect it will start jumping one to the other☹️
