Fitting wheel arch trims

Can anyone out there please let me know the best way of securing wheel arch trims as I have had them fitted when required by the so called experts at my dealership yet they still partly come off our caravan. I would be most grateful for any advice in helping resolve this problem , many thanks, John

    I’m not sure what you mean by wheel arch trims but if you mean the wheel spats I had the similar problem on my swift caravan. The spats are only kept in place by small and flimsy plastic “U” brackets that break easily.

    I removed the spats completely and made replacement bracket from aluminium. I secured the new brackets to the spats with sealant and carefully refitted them, they’ve been fine ever since, about 3 years.

    I messed up one wheel arch early on in ownership and the dealer asked if I minded it screwed back on as replacing the original mounts would be pricey - so it was screwed back to the main body - doesn't worry me - I can't see both sides at once to compare them!  Sorry if this doesn't answer your query - I also think it would be an easy way of identifying my van should it be stolen!

    double sided tape with a rivet on corners & ends

    Sikaflex or Tigerseal will stick better then the proverbial to a blanket. wink
