Please check with the DVLA on their website, or even a contact you are processing your license with!

To "practice" for the B+E test on the highway you will need to be accompanied by a qualified person.  That used to be someone who held the appropriate category of licence. Now I'm not so sure as one is not allowed to ride a motor cycle as a learner with a qualified rider as a pillion passenger.

I suggest you look up the DVLA pages about taking the B+E test. I suspect you may need to be accompanied by a qualified driving instructor.

I suspect that the trailer used will need to comply with your current licence anyway, The test is not taken with a heavy caravan

The qualified pillion rider on the back of a learner biker was rather dubious.

Pretty sure you just need to have held a full appropriate licence for 3 years to accompany a learner.

The trailer you use must, amongs other things, be a closed box body, such as a horsebox and have have a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of at least 1,000kg, carry a load of at least 600kg and the combined weight of the trailer and load must be at least 800kg.

I have a feeling that the wisdom of the CMHC, that pre 1997 licence allows you to drive up to 3.5 ton AND tow up to 3.5 ton, without having to take further tests.

If you web search "caravan club drivers licences in a nutshell PDF"

    should tell you all.
