Slow website

Is it me?

This "new" Caravan Club website seems to be so much slower than the previous one. When looking for a C.L. it seems to take forever to navigate to the site required. After clicking on England and going through all the counties ,then having to scroll through the full list to get to the town, before reaching the important site showing details and reviews.

The "old" system was much easier and quicker.

Or is it me?

It seems slow, full stop. It takes a lot longer to load anything lately. No problems with any other sites on my laptop. Sometimes it's been so slow it's timed itself out. Frustrating

It's slow all the time but sometimes it's worse than others, this doesn't matter on time of day or device used. I often get timed out.

One day just one day soon we may see an improvement, don't forget it's not a year old just yet 😉

It's been very slow for several days now, difficult to see if posts have gone through and a lot of buffering in between.

As well as being glacially slow it's also frustrating. When you book a site  the drop down menu gives you a choice of region and you would expect that the next menu would give you only those counties in that region, does this happen? no it gives you all the counties but those in the region are in bold, very helpful, you still have to scroll to the one you want. The next drop down menu gives you all the sites on the network instead of only those in the selected county so again you have to scroll to the one you want. I knew the site I wanted but still had to go through this rigmarole to book it😤

You can just put the site in if you know its name. Start typing and suggestions appear, touch on the one you want and press search. The search results returns just the selected site.

Perversely if you then alter the search criteria on the right hand side of the results page, this works correctly for region, county etc.☹️

The quickest way if you want a particular site is to type the name into the search box at the top of this page.

Unfortunately I think Maddie is just on the CL team, not CT.

Jeezo, just for a second I thought the OP meant it was even slower than it has been for the last 7 to 8 months of inactivity from the IT crew😴

Duplicate posts happening every day now due to people not being able to tell if their first post has gone through. Confusion all round.

The site is appalling. When it was first launched, promises were made to iron out all the problems. Nothing works like it used to. The UK site search is just a complete nonsense and, as for looking for something in the Classifieds, don't waste your time! For an organisation the size of the Club, surely they can afford to employ IT people who know what they're doing? If it's not sorted by the time my membership is due for renewal, it's very unlikely that I'll stay with the Club.

I start the loading process for the sign-in page and then open another window and read the news for five minutes whilst checking occasionally to see if the site has opened. I repeat that as I progress through the site, a task I sometimes never finish. yell

That's fine for sites you know but when one is looking to book a C L site in a fresh area then the slow reaction is a pain.

    I'm not alone!

Unable to post due to slowness of website, continued buffering, some posts not going through at all earlier on.

Is there a reason for this? Nothing has improved recently.

That is a very common complaint across the whole forum.

We know that people at HQ read these posts so why they don't respond to a perfectly legitimate question remains a mystery. sealed

It seems that the quickest way to sign in is to try and quote a post on here. Just taken me seconds.

As for finding CLs, I no longer use this site prefering ukcamper site. A lot quicker and easier.

We have been on Stamford Club site all week, connected through the wifi.

We have had no problem with internet speed on any website UNTIL I signed in on here the other day.

Once signed in this site is about as fast as a tortoise, with a limp. So I can now see what the OP was getting at.

If I log out on here everything returns to normal. I can read posts and pages load normally.

No you're not. Speeding up very slightly now only checked it out since approx 9.30pm. Slower than I've known it before. A double post from you to David Klyne 😂

Using my 'bookmark' for Club Together, it just hangs and hangs and hangs for ever.  So I went back to google, googled Caravan Club Together Forum and it was there instantly, and is quicker to use than I've ever known it - with almost instant responses.  But whilst this one is open and I'm replying, I've tried the 'bookmark' version again on another tab and it's still hanging in there!

We're not on fast broadband at home, Sunday night is often slow. But it doesn't matter how the website is accessed on a slow session it's just plain slow on here.  Better this morning, will see how fast the reply goes. undecided
