Inconsiderate dog-owners.
We've recently returned from a visit to a lovely Club Site. The weather was good, the site was absolutely perfect, well- maintained pitches and service areas, and a great on-site dog walk, with further walks directly from the site.What we cannot understand is why so many inconsiderate, selfish and totally unhygienic dog-owners think it is acceptable to "excercise" their pets on vacant grass pitches. We even had one owner walk around behind our van and then cross the pitch with five dogs in tow! While they may argue that they clean up after their pets, animal urine leaves an unpleasant smell for other pitch-users. While I realise that the majority of owners act responsibly, the minority give them all a bad reputation. So come on, you people who can't be bothered to walk as far as the dog-walk, think of others and act responsibly.

This will no doubt go down the same line as before but I'm just posting to agree with you.
How can someone control 5 dogs. Yes , they may be on leads but just how do they clean up afterwards.
This country if fighting a losing battle against the problems dog cause, dog mess, dog attacks etc and it will get worse because the numbers are just going up and up. Just what can be done about it I don't know.
I never thought the old saying, "The country's going to the dogs" would come to true. Just look at adverts on the telly and note how many have a dog in them which has nothing whatsoever to do with the meaning of the advert.
As for it happening on club sites well the rules should take care of it but they don't

on a site at the moment, and one caravaner has six dogs,yelping,dumping all sorts on pitch behind a barracaid of wind breaks, rules, what rules I hope the next occupant of the pitch has strong stomach.

Out of interest I checked on UK dog ownership figures and they are in a decline, with average number of dogs around 1.3 per owner.
Sometimes you see multiple dogs on sites belonging to dog show people. As they are usually sitting responsibly in the enclosure with their dogs I don't see a problem, equally what are those without dogs doing in their enclosures....nothing I suspect! Hopefully, just enjoying their holidays.

Inform the wardens
Recently returned from C&CC Derwentwater where there had been some cases of dogs being allowed to toilet around pitches and on vacant pitches. The wardens had received complaints and rightly so, so they posted notices in the toilet blocks asking for this to stop and if caught allowing dogs to relieve themselves next to pitches, they would be removed from the site.
Its not difficult to leave your van and head straight for the dog areas with your dogs and in an attempt to stop them peeing near other people's pitches. Members actively encouraging their dogs to take a pee outside their units or worse, near other people's units, especially late at night (last pee before bedtime) is not nice and does stink if there's not been any rain for a while.
