Lucky for that you're able to arrive at 12. Some people are still in work till 5 on the day they arrive on site & I'm sure they'd  be really agreeable in leaving the site even earlier on departure day.

thanks for the reply. Funny about the Germans, I thought it would have been more the French and Spanish sites.

Especially if you use the Aires, come and go as you please. Must admit I was caught out on a couple of French sites this year which closed 1200 to 1400, I've not encountered this before because mostly I turn up much later in the day. If it is known there are restrictions on arrival time, I cannot understand why some find it so difficult to adjust journey times to suit.

How many more threads are there going to be on this subject, it's been discussed ad nauseam since the start of CT.  Come on we all know the rules and the club aren't going to change these rules any time soon to accommodate us continental travellers or 20 year plus memberssurprisedcool

The earliest that I ever arrived at a site was 7am. It was a CL at Askham Bryan near York. I had asked the owner if I could arrive early and he said you can arrive at 8am as I will be up dressed and about. I said that if he meant it I would happily arrive at 8am and it was agreed. We arrived just outside the site when the radio news announced 7am - I had forgotten to turn the clock back that morning!

Chap saw me parked outside at that point as he was just getting his milk off the step and said 'come on in'.

This subject hasn't been discussed for a week or two...it's good to see it back on the agenda as members were getting bored with ball game and warden postswinksealed

Some years ago I asked a warden [who didn't have an assistant] what time he had lunch.  He asked why and when I said if I knew then I could arrive either before or after that time he was flabbergasted.  We became friends!
